"to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me." Acts 26:18
Well, we find ourselves needing to make a change in our upcoming ministry plans. We just got news recently that our oldest grandson, Noah, will be graduating from high school this coming May 18th. We were unaware of it when we scheduled our Spring Retreat for this year for May 18th-20th. When we found out, we were in a quandary, not knowing what to do. Kenny shared our concerns with John Hobbs. John said, "I don't usually advise you on such things but if your grandson is walking, maybe you should go walk with him. You can have other retreats but this is a one time thing for him in his life." Noah has walked through some real challenges in his life for the last few years and it is just a wonderful blessing from God that he's able to graduate at this time. We are thankful! And we are so proud of Noah! He's an awesome young man!
In addition to this, we've had some who were planning on helping us with the retreat to have other things to pull them away also. We were going to try and do it the best we could with a smaller work force but when the other conflict came, we really felt we needed to change our plans.
Our hearts are to be about the ministry we believe God has been leading us into. We want to be faithful in that to which He has called us. Sometimes his timing is different from ours, and so once again, we wait on Him and trust for His perfect timing. God has been doing some things in our own family and is continuing to do so. We must tend to those things first and then God will lead us more completely and with greater understanding into what He is preparing for us for the days ahead.
We thank you for your understanding in all this! We trust the Lord that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. We commend you to the love of God, so far beyond all our understanding.
In His Love and Thankfulness,
Kenny & Kim Davis
