Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
In looking up the word beginning, there are several words which illuminate it more fully--the first, in place time or rank; beginning, chief, principal thing, the head, captain, excellent, forefront, highest, lead, ruler, sum, top. And it is most interesting that this word actually comes from another word, the root meaning, to shake. This brings to my mind shaking the head, as saying a great big YES!!! As God began to create, each day He looked at His creation and said YES!!!, it is good!
And yes, I know, you could also say He shakes His head, No! as He has given His law saying, "Thou shalt not!" The No! is in place to remove anything that would prevent the Yes! In Christ, He became our Yes! by removing our No! in fulfilling all the requirements of the law and imparting His righteousness to us. 2 Corinthians 1:18-20 says this: But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not "Yes" and "No." For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not "Yes" and "No," but in him it has always been "Yes." For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. Amen? Amen!!!
Do you need a new beginning in anything in your life today? Look to God's "Yes!" 2 Corinthians 5:17 says this: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty (Revelation 1:8)." Every ending is also a beginning. Every beginning is also an ending. He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new (Revelation 21:5)!"
I leave you today with this priestly benediction from of old. The ancient path is new every day! "The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."
