"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Whosoever. . . I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile (Romans 1:16). He [Jesus] came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--(John 1:11). Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond their recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring (Romans 11:11, 12). For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:12 13)." For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers (Romans 8:29).
After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb (Revelation 7:9, 10)."
And what is our part in all this? First of all, believing in Christ and being born again into His family. Secondly, we have a big commission that we will look at tomorrow. The Jewish people are chosen by God but not exclusively for salvation. They are chosen as His vessel to bring salvation to the whole world, to all the whosoevers who will respond. There is no one anywhere that God's great love cannot transform into His children just as His heart desires. "For God so loved the world. . . "
