Matthew 1:22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
All of the New Testament is fulfillment of the Old. It is the story written from the heart of God. It is the best seller of all time. It is the greatest love story ever told. And you are one of the characters in the story. The main character is Jesus Christ; He is the Word made flesh. All stories are given life through the stroke of His pen.
"Do not think that I have come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished (Matthew 5:17, 18)."
This is the beginning of John's gospel ( John 1:1-3): In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. This is John's signature to his gospel (John 21:24, 25): This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true. Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.
Our source---our fulfillment. For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ. . . (Colossians 2:9, 10).
