Genesis 2:7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
In the second chapter of Genesis, the narrative focuses on the creation of the man and the woman who were placed in the Garden. We see right away to the word God another word is added. In the King James and also in the NIV, we now see the double name of God. Not only is He Elohim, but now the name Jehovah is added, which is translated LORD. God is not only the Mighty Powerful Creator; He is also LORD, One who reveals Himself to His creation engaging in a relationship. This Elohim also, right away, is not just a force in the universe that is impersonal; this Jehovah reveals Himself to mankind and begins to interact with them, first of all by breathing His breath into man. This is the relationship He desires to have with us, up close and personal, very involved in our existence, this source of our life. He desires to share this life with us. This is our God!!!
