Daniel 9:18 ". . . . We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. . . "
Daniel was a man who is known for his faithfulness in prayer. He spent much time with the Lord in prayer. He did not come to Him because of his own perceived righteousness in doing do. He came to God in the light of His mercy. What a blessed people we are to remember the mercy of the Lord! In His great mercy we are given what we do not deserve. Blessed be the name of the Lord! And in His mercy let us find a new start today and every day. Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions (mercies) never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22, 23). Perhaps our greatest "sin" is not receiving of His mercy and all that it offers.
