1 Thessalonians 1:9 . . . for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God. . .
Today I am reminded of missionaries all over the world who are giving their lives to serve the Lord, to bring the gospel to those who have not heard of the Lord Jesus Christ. There are many the Lord has called to serve Him, to be an example of Christ and His love for all. There are challenges in sharing with others, sometimes life-threatening, sometimes challenges of breaking beyond barriers of understanding. Let's pray for those who are reaching out to our world with the good news. We pray that their faith will be strengthened and they will be encouraged. We pray that they will have creative ideas to reach those they are serving. We pray for their provision for themselves and their families. We pray for open doors. And as we pray for them, let us also pray that we ourselves will be the witnesses for Christ we can be to others who don't know Him. Let us be bold to share the good news with those we may encounter in our everyday lives. Everywhere there are those who are hurting, those who are seeking, those who have never known the One who gave Himself for them that they may have life abundant. Sometimes we forget. Sometimes we think that everyone knows what we know. But that is not always the case.
And remember that as we share in whatever way we have opportunity, the Spirit of the Lord Himself is at work to bring revelation and understanding to those He is seeking. Jesus reminds us, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost (Luke 19:10)."
