Romans 5:9, 10 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
This is a powerful statement! God reached out to us when we were helpless and hopeless and did what we could not do to bring us back to Himself. He did this through the death of Christ on His cross. And He didn't stop there. His salvation continues to work in us for through His life--His life that consists of righteousness, love, and victory is at work in us. His life could not be overcome; rather, it overcame even all our sin, even satisfied the wrath of God toward our sin, which brought us reconciliation to Him to begin a new life in Him. That was only the beginning, a glorious beginning. That put is in the door, established a divine connection. But what is available as we continue to walk on in that life? Oh Lord, let us continue to yield to your life in us. Let us continue to explore all that is in You. Let us live in an awareness of the divine connection. Let us abide--live, dwell--in You. Jesus' words to us: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart form me you can do nothing (John 15:5)."
