Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Things may change; people may change; situations and circumstances may change from day to day, even from moment to moment. But one thing doesn't change. Jesus Christ never changes; He is the same always. And everything of God never changes. James tells us, Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Governmental laws may change. The norms of society may change and certainly do. God's Word is the same. Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens (Psalm 119:89).
God is love, John tells us (1 John 4:16). And His love never changes. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:35-39).
But everything else, my friend, is subject to change. And that can be a good thing, when we put ourselves in the hands of an unchanging God, when we look to Him, when we allow His Spirit to work in our lives. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18, KJV). . . Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).
